Sermon Content 5/5/24

Acts Chapter 5

Acts chapter 5 gives us the story of Ananias and Sapphira. In it, Ananias and Sapphira sold land and told the Apostles they were giving all the money to the church when they kept a portion for themselves.

Because of their sin, we see God strike them down on the spot.

At South Fork, Pastor Nathan shows that generosity is connected to three things: our character, our community, and God.

At North, Pastor Matthew challenged us to see if we have spirit-filled generosity or Satan-driven greed.

At Walkertown, Pastor Stephen challenges us to look at our motives showing that we cannot fool God with bad motives.

5. What excuses have you made/heard others make about not being generous?

6. 1 Timothy 6:10 tells us that money is the root of all evil. How do you see that play out in the world? What steps can you take today to help you live a life that is not controlled by money?
